Thank you for that alternative view. You're right, the lockout does make sense when seen that way :)

I read this book for Lit & Comp, and I thought it was great! Being a teenage girl, I understand what it is like to be nervous about weight, and how I look on the outside. This book, in my opinion, just shows a girl who can't take it, and is constantly weakened by the loss of her father. However, I thought it was unreal how all of the girls in the story had some sort of boyfriend. Never have I heard a story or anything where everyone's heart is full, and nobody's is broken. But what balanced this out was the troubles that some went through, like Rachel's mom, and Beth's dad leaving. I felt like I got to look into the lives of other girls around my age, and got to see how they cope with their problems. With this, I was able to figure out better ways to deal with problems that come up.
